My name is Einat Kessler I'm a designer and scrapbooker from Israel.
Crafting has always been part of my life. At school I was always known as the one with the beautiful handwriting, creative ideas and projects. I took part in all the year books, decorations committees and graphic designs. As time went by, I graduated from high school, I continued making a card here and there but I wasn't really crafting. My passion for crafting faded away a little… or so I thought.
It all changed when my son was born. My grandfather, a scrapbooker himself suggested I make a scrapbook for my new baby. Little did I know how that suggestion was going to change my life. At the time I was working as a civil servant. It was a good job. Then I found out my son has PDD (pervasive developmental disorder) and I was devastated. A main part of my job was living abroad for a few years in different countries. I knew that was impossible with a child that stability is essential to him. I was lost. I had to leave my job (lose an income) and deal with a child that had special needs.
Scrapbooking came to my aid. After so many years crafting became my lifeline, it was something I could do not only as a hobby that made me feel good, but as a source of living, a job.
I decided to open a small business for custom designed scrapbooks and workshops. I slowly developed and discovered that not only my business was growing but I was growing. Scrapbooking was my therapy, my way to accept my beautiful smart boy. I was creating scrapbooks not only for my clients but for my family. Going through all the photos was like going through my life…it was amazing. I discovered my joy, my strengths and my love.
I believe everything happens for a reason. I believe scrapbooking revealed my destiny on this earth and that is to bring smiles to all those families and people I design for. I help them remember all their special moments, moments I almost lost. I am happy now, fulfilled and content. My greatest moment was last April when my son and his brother gave me my present…they created a scrapbook all by themselves! With family photos, embellishments and a dedication saying: "we love you mom".
